***********EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW WITH RALF SCHEEPERS!!!***********



Ralf Scheepers is one of the BEST german singers out there… Having a GREAT career for many years with big bands (such as Gamma Ray and Primal Fear), he became a huge name among other power metal(and not only) singers. I had the honour to speak with him for an interview the last Sunday(24/1/2010). Our conversation started with some…Hellenic – Ralf knows some - and not only to speak but he can write it too!!! And i assure that he's a very gentle,open minded and kind person too :) But let's see what we talked about...

The first question was about Primal fear and what’s new on them . Ralf answered that hey gonna make live dvd called as "16.6 live" and then they’ll start touring for that .

Next question was about the tour and especially for the Hellenic fans – if they ll come to Hellas again. Ralf answered that he love Hellas and he have a lot of Hellenic friends and he always enjoy coming here , but there’s a problem with the local hellenic agents which are not so…stable. I must say that i agree 100% on that!!!

I also asked him about a solo career...Ralf said that he's planning a new cd (untitled yet), which it will consists abit different songs than the classic power metal. The songs will be metal but we ll gonna hear some surprises too :))) Matt Sinner gonna help him , as many others guests on this!!!

Then we spoke about past...first i asked about the rumour that he had helped Helloween back in 1986. Ralf said that he NEVER played with Helloween - he just knew Kai and he helped him with a project back then , but nothing more.

And then about Gamma Ray...Ralf said that when Kai called him for Gamma Ray, he accepted cause he knew him for alot of years and he didn't regret it - Ralf has no bad memories from Gamma Ray - with them , as he said , he came into music industry , making some GREAT power metal albums/songs and travelling the whole world , meeting many people etc.

Then i asked about Judas Priest. As u know Ralf was claiming Rob Halford's place on Judas Priest as many others did. Ralf had sent some tapes to the J.P. management and they said to him that they like him.So he waited for ages for the magic call which never came. Judas Priest had choosen Ripper Owens. Ralf said that he's an excellent singer , and that's showing how GREAT personnality Ralf is....Nomatter if he waited for along time without receiving an answer, nomatter if Owens is much worse singer(in my personnaly opinion as Nik), Ralf respects the desicion of J.P. and said that Ripper Owens is an good and proper singer for them.


Next question was about Primal Fear...how this was happen - Ralf answered that he knew Matt Sinner for along time but they had never had spoken about creating a band till Primal Fear and the rest is a glorious power metal history :)

Also, answering the question "which Primal Fear album is ur favourite?" he said that normally he must answering the last one "16.6" but he said that ALL of the Primal Fear albums are his babies so it's really though to choose ;)

Last question was about the best partner he had (in all the bands/project he participated) - Ralf said that it's a tough question too cause he respect all of his partners but if he must choose one that's Metal Mike Chlasciak :)
